International Women's Day - mini Model UN followed by Q&A

This Friday, March 8th,  is International Women's Day, and to mark this day, the UNSW United Nations Society and the AHRCentre is hosting a mini-Model United Nations and speakers Q&A Panel in the Law Faculty Common Room. This event will be running from 2-6pm, starting with the mini-Model United Nations and then moving into the Q&A session at 4.30pm. The theme of the day will be in line with this years United Nations theme, 'A Promise is a Promise: Time for Action to End Violence Against Women'. Students will have the opportunity to debate and discuss an issue related to violence against women and then ask our panelists, Dr. Julie Stubbs from the UNSW Law Faculty, Dr. Laura Shepherd from the UNSW Faculty of Social Sciences and Karen Willis from the NSW Rape Crisis Center, questions about responses to violence against women in the contexts of Australia and the world at large.
